Ink Single Line Observational Drawings

I think these two images are successful. I started with a watered down black ink and layered it up to make the darker shades. The very dark parts of the drawing are non-diluted black ink. I think some of the lines are too dark and harsh, I maybe should have used a thinner paintbrush so they aren't so thick and over powering. I really like the shading a detail shown in the images using the ink, its effective and shows the tone well.

Descriptive, Abstract, Simplified and Fantastical Exaggeration Drawings

Descriptive

I was required to draw a number of different objects in a descriptive way, demonstrating the details in the objects. I did the first two using pencil, I used 2B and 4B to create the different shades. I then realised that the pencil was quite time consuming so moved onto ink which meant I could get the object drawn quicker but there wasn't as much detail in them.

Abstract

I then took the descriptive images and made them abstract by taking them apart slightly and adding in other shapes and colour. I think the second image is more successful however it could be a bit too simple for an abstract image.

Simplified

I then simplified the original drawings taking away most of the detail and just using outlines. I also used simple colour. I think these images are successful, it's quite easy to simplify an image.

Fantastical Exaggeration

I then made one of the original images into a sort of clock, exaggerating the shape and details of the original object and making it into something that is more familiar to the eye.
